Josh Kane is the founder of Kane Landscapes, Inc.
In 1988 when Josh was 12 years old he began maintaining lawns and landscapes for several neighbors and residents in Vienna, Virginia. With a love of working outdoors and running a business Josh went on attended Virginia Tech to pursue his interest in landscaping and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design, all while continuing to grow the company.
Now with over 30 years of experience in the landscape industry Josh has helped grow Kane Landscapes into one of the premier landscape architecture, build and garden care firms in the Northern Virginia Region.
Josh truly believes in giving back to the community that has allowed Kane Landscapes to become such a successful company. Since 2012 Josh has been serving on the Board of Directors for the Landscape Contractors Association and is a Past President.
In addition, he serves the Boards of Loudoun Habitat for Humanity and NOVA horticulture Technology Advisory Committee, and is a past board member of Langley Residential Support Services.
Julie joined Kane Landscapes, Inc. in March of 2005.
She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors degree in Communications and received her Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University.
Julie oversees business development and planning, marketing, employee development, human resources, and most importantly, customer service.
Julie’s top priority is to ensure long term company viability through growth and employee retention. She recognizes that we can provide a higher level of customer service by showing our commitment to our employees.
Pat comes to Kane Landscapes with over 25 years of experience providing strategic and operational leadership in both residential and commercial landscape management, design, and construction.
He holds an associate degree in ornamental horticulture from Northern Virginia Community College and went on to study business at George Mason University.
Pat believes that the key to providing superior customer service lies in the training and continued development of the Kane Landscape team.
In his free time, Pat enjoys hiking and fishing with his wife and their three daughters.
Justin graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2007 with a degree in Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies.
He has been in the landscaping industry since 2007 and has experience in many areas, including production management, snow management, and customer service.
His adorable dog Jax keeps morale high at the office.
Alice joined our team in September of 2021.
She comes from a family that loves art and nature. Alice likes to be in contact with animals, especially cats. She also enjoys drawing, paint, and making crafts.
Currently, Alice is a candidate for a Graphic Design major at Northern Virginia Community College.
In her free time, she likes to practice crocheting, take care of her plants, and watch series with her husband.
Cesar comes from a background of technology and management, with studies in Telecommunication Engineering in the University Andres Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.
Since he was young, he was very passionate about tech, playing video games, learning how to disassemble anything he could get his hands on, and programming; all of this with a huge fascination and curiosity for how things work. He came to support Kane Landscapes in January 2024 with a huge belt of skills.
On one side, the adaptability to new demands, obtained from moving alone to another country when he was 17 years old, overcoming the challenges of adapting to a new culture, new weather, new environments and not just once but twice! On the other side, his meticulousness, attention to detail and the ability to learn things quickly ensures that anything that comes to him is done flawlessly.
Cesar, with his curious nature, loves to try himself, take on new challenges, push his limits, and to always learn something new. When he is not doing that, he is either exercising, playing video games, taking care of his cat named Pepsi (No, he does not drink Pepsi) or spending time with his loving wife.
Alan joined Kane Landscapes in 2012 and brings with him over 30 years of award-winning expertise in residential landscape design/build.
Alan holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas A & M University where he also studied European gardens while participating in a semester-long overseas study program in France.
Whether you need a more inviting arrival area to mark the entrance to your home, or a rear yard development that creates memories and provides a welcomed relief from life’s stresses, Alan has the proficiency to make it happen through creative design and detailed project management of the installation.
Alan is delighted to work with you to create a vision for the “outdoor rooms” of your garden, being careful to incorporate your personal tastes, preferences, and lifestyle.
Emily joined the Kane Team in 2015 after obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!)
Working as both a Registered Landscape Architect and Sales Consultant, Emily thrives on working closely with clients to help them develop their dream landscape while also seeking out new challenges that push her to use her creativity and innovation. Whether it’s developing a beautifully manicured garden, or ensuring the proper handling of storm water, Emily will make sure your vision comes to life.
Aside from Landscaping, Emily’s favorite hobbies include dancing, reading, and lying by the pool.
Hanna joined Kane Landscapes in 2024 and brings with her over 18 years of experience as a professional landscape designer and project manager.
Hanna holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Management from Brigham Young University, Provo. Within this program, she studied landscape design, landscape maintenance, soil science, horticulture, and business management.
Hanna feels privileged to work closely with clients to help make their ideal outdoor space a reality. Whether you would like a space for family barbeques, or a relaxing spot to decompress and lounge by the pool, Hanna’s enthusiasm and love for design can unlock the potential of your landscape through problem solving, vision, and creativity.
Hanna will be happy to help guide you step by step through the design, installation, and care of your landscape.
John brings over 30 years of high-end, landscape installation experience with him.
He is a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) in both hardscape and softscape installations. John also spends his time involved in the training and judging of both certifications for other certification seekers. Moreover, he also holds certification in permeable concrete pavers and ICPI certification.
Over the years, John has won several awards in design and build, having developed a reputation for excellence and quality. With his extensive knowledge and passion for customer service, he will make sure your landscape is installed the way you envisioned and will answer any questions you have along the way.
Steven’s start in the landscape industry began in 2000 as he began mowing and maintaining lawns in his neighborhood.
Steven served in the United States Navy after high school. After leaving the Navy, Steven attended The Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Contracting and a double minor in Horticulture and Arboriculture.
Steven joined the Kane Team in May 2018 as a foreman, but with his hard work and leadership skills, he was promoted to Operations Manager when the position arose. In his free time, Steven likes to go hunting and hiking.
Jon joined the Kane team in 2013 as a Lawn Care Technician after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with Bachelors in Economics Commerce.
Jon works with our vendors to ensure timely delivery and supply of inventory, provides customer service by keeping our customers informed of the schedule of work, and works closely with designers, managers, and team members to ensure that inventory and projects are streamlined, and efficient.
Brian became part of the Kane Team on October 2017.
He has lived in Northern Virginia since 1998, where he moved after obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Contracting from Pennsylvania State University.
Since then, he spent over 19 years in the HOA/Commercial landscape market with ValleyCrest Landscape Companies. Brian handled many responsibilities during his tenor including scheduling, estimating, client relationships, production training, team leadership, jobsite quality, safety and snow management.
Brian is also a Virginia Class A Licensed Contractor.
In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors with his wife and two daughters as well as Salmon fishing in Upstate New York.
Brian and the Maintenance Division look forward to providing you with timely quality service, proactive communication, and sound horticultural maintenance practices.
Bobby joined the Kane Team in June of 2012 after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College.
Originally hired as a Lawn Care Tech, Bobby quickly became a valued member of the company and earned his way up from Assistant Maintenance Manager to Maintenance Operation Manager.
Bobby works closely with our clients, not only managing new sales but also keeping homeowners informed about their properties, addressing questions or concerns in a professional and accessible manner.
Equally, at home in the office or the field, Bobby helps ensure that our maintenance work is of the highest quality by effectively communicating with and managing his team.
Sean joined the Kane team in 2021 as our Lawn Care Tech, and with his hard work, he was promoted to Area Manager.
Sean has extensive experience managing turfgrass. He got his start in the industry, working at local golf courses and country clubs. He is a Penn State’s Turfgrass Management program graduate and is a Certified Nutrient Management Planner and Pesticide Applicator.
He enjoys playing golf, vacations with his family, and rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers in his free time.
