Josh Kane
President & Head Designer

Josh is a member of the Professinal Landcare Network and an Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute Certified Installer. He holds a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Virginia Tech. Josh will help you get those dreams of your ideal landscape or hardscape down on paper and installed perfectly in your yard. So if you're looking for that patio to enjoy all summer long or for a breathtaking design/build install project to totally transform your property, he will help you through every step. Josh promises to keep you informed and educated throughout the entire process. With over 18 years in the landscape field, he has the knowledge and experience to help identify and solve any problems or answer any questions you may encounter with your lawn or landscape plants. Julie Kane
Vice President

Julie joined Kane Lawn and Landscapes, Inc. in March of 2005. She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors degree in Communications and received her Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University. Julie oversees business development and planning, marketing, and human resources.

Amanda Hamilton
Landscape Designer

Amanda is another one of Kane Landscapes' talented designers.  She grew up in Saxe, Virginia where she discovered her love for gardening, the environment, and design. Amanda, who has a Horticulture degree from Virginia Tech with emphasis in Landscape Construction and Environmental Science, enjoys freehand drawing and color rendering. During college, she spent her summers from Florida to Maine expanding her plant knowledge and experience in the green industry. Amanda is enthusiastic about helping you find a new way to utilize your outdoor space.

David Hensel
Maintenance Manager

David grew up in the green industry, literally. His father runs a retail garden center, in Richmond, where you could always find David from a young age. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a degree in Landscape Contracting. Currently, he is a Virginia Certified Horticulturist (VNLA) and Certified Paver Installer (ICPI).  Through years of experience working with customers, David has learned communication, customer service, and quality are paramount to success. He has carried those principles forward to form relationships with both residential and commercial clients. He stays motivated by continuing to build solid relationships throughout the industry. 

Justin Hill
Office Manager

Justin graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2007 with a degree in Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies.  He has been in the landscaping industry since 2007 and has experience in many areas of the industry, including production management,  snow management, and customer service.  In the fall of 2011, Justin will return to school to get his Masters in Accountancy.

Joseph Ryder
Landscape Manager

Joe’s upbringing in rural Newport, VA helped inspire his passion for plants and the outdoors.  He pursued his interest at Virginia Tech and earned a degree in Horticulture with a focus in Landscape Contracting.  His experiences through owning and operating his own business have helped him develop the necessary skills to make sure the job gets done right.  Working closely along side our designers, Joe will make sure your landscape is installed the way you envisioned and will answer any questions you have along the way.
