Josh Kane
President & Head Designer

Josh Kane is the founder of Kane Landscapes, Inc. He started the company back in 1991 when he was 14 years old, maintaining lawns and landscapes for several neighbors and residents in Vienna, Virginia while attending High School at Madison. He attended Virginia Tech to pursue his interest in landscape and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. He is a member of the Professional Landcare Network, a Certified Landscape Technician, and an Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute Certified Installer.  In 2012, Josh Kane was nominated to serve on the Landscape Contractors Association’s Board of Directors, and is now the Vice President of LCA. In addition, he gives back to the community by his service on the Board of Langley Residential Support Services and as Secretary of the Loudoun Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors. With over 25 years of experience in the landscape industry, Josh can help you completely transform your landscape into a breathtaking outdoor living and entertaining area, while keeping you informed and educated throughout the entire process. Josh has the knowledge and experience to help identify and solve any problems or answer any questions you may encounter with your lawn or landscape plants. Julie Kane
Vice President

She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors degree in Communications and received her Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University. Julie oversees business development and planning, marketing, employee development, human resources, and most importantly, customer service. Julie’s top priority is to ensure long term company viability through growth and employee retention. She recognizes that we can provide a higher level of customer service by showing our commitment to our employees.

George Hodges-Fulton
Chief Operations Officer

George joined Kane Landscapes in July 2017 as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, George is focused on strategic growth, team member development, daily operations, and continual process improvements, all with a focus on providing a superior customer and employee experience. From 2003 until 2017, George was a principal of BOWA Inc. in McLean, Virginia, as well as a member of their Executive Team and General Manager of their Classic Design Build offering. Prior to moving to Northern Virginia in 2003, George lived in Denver, Colorado, where he managed both residential and commercial construction projects ranging from new single-family homes and multi-family units to churches and storefronts. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and also holds a master’s degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Outside of work, George is an avid open-water swimmer who has completed the Chesapeake Bay Swim (4.4 miles) five times. George lives in Reston with his wife and two daughters.

Alan Blalack
Senior Landscape Architect
Alan holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas A & M University where he also studied European gardens while participating in a semester-long overseas study program in France. Alan joined Kane Landscapes in 2012 and brings with him over 30 years of award winning expertise in residential landscape design/build.   Whether you need a more inviting arrival area to mark the entrance to your home, or a rear yard development that creates memories and provides a welcomed relief from life’s stresses, Alan has the proficiency to make it happen through creative design and detailed project management of the installation. Alan is delighted to work with you to create a vision for the “outdoor rooms” of your garden, being careful to incorporate your personal tastes, preferences, and lifestyle.

John Peer
Landscape Operations Manager

John brings over 30 years of high-end, landscape installation experience with him. He is a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) in both hardscape and softscape installations.  John also spends his time involved in the training and judging of both certifications for other certification seekers. Moreover, he also holds certification in permeable concrete pavers and ICPI certification. Over the years, John has won several awards in design and build, having developed a reputation for excellence and quality. With his extensive knowledge and passion for customer service, he will make sure your landscape is installed the way you envisioned and will answer any questions you have along the way.

Brian Coughenour
Senior Maintenance Operations Manager

Brian became part of the Kane Team in October 2017. He has lived in Northern Virginia since 1998, where he moved after obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Contracting from Pennsylvania State University. Since then, he spent over 19 years in the HOA/Commercial landscape market with ValleyCrest Landscape Companies. Brian handled many responsibilities during his tenor including scheduling, estimating, client relationships, production training, team leadership, jobsite quality, safety and snow management. Brian is also a Virginia Class A Licensed Contractor. Brian and the Maintenance Division look forward to providing you with timely quality service, proactive communication and sound horticultural maintenance practices. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors with his wife and two daughters as well as Salmon fishing in Upstate New York.

Bobby Gordon
Area Manager
Bobby joined the Kane Team in June of 2012 after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Hampden-Sydney College. Originally hired as a Lawn Care Tech, Bobby quickly became a valued member of the company and earned his way up from Assistant Maintenance Manager to Maintenance Operation Manager. Bobby works closely with our clients, not only managing new sales, but also keeping homeowners informed about their properties, addressing questions or concerns in a professional and accessible manner.  Equally at home in the office or the field, Bobby helps ensure that our maintenance work is of the highest quality by effectively communicating with and managing his team.


Patrick O’Grady
Area Manager

Pat joined Kane Landscapes in May 2018 as an Area Manager for the Maintenance Division.  At Kane, Pat is focused on providing superior customer service, identifying and solving landscape maintenance challenges, and working with team members to improve quality.  After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Management and minoring in Accounting at Clemson University, he went on to study Forestry and worked for the USFS in the Western United States as a Forestry Technician for 6 years.  Having grown up in Reston, Pat returned to the Northern Virginia area in 2016. Pat has worked in the landscape maintenance industry for the past 20 years with some of the best known companies in business. He specialized in the management of large HOA’s, corporate campuses, and high end municipalities, such as international airports and museums.  Pat lives in Round Hill, VA with his wife and son and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and skiing.

Emily Inglis
Landscape Designer, LAIT

Emily is 2015 graduate of the Landscape Architecture Program at Virginia Tech and works as a Designer, Salesperson, and Landscape Architect In-Training alongside our Senior Landscape Architects. An avid learner with minors in both Horticulture and Psychology, Emily thrives on new experiences and enjoys facing new challenges that push her to use her creativity and innovation. Emily is incredibly savvy with technology and works wonders with our 3-D designs. She is also extremely personable and loves to work closely with clients and colleagues. Aside from Landscaping, Emily’s favorite hobbies include dancing, reading, and lying by the pool!


 Jon Soderberg
Internal Operations Manager

Jon joined the Kane team in 2013 as a Lawn Care Technician after graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with Bachelors in Economics Commerce.   In 2015 Jon became a Certified Landscape Technician, specializing in turf maintenance.   In 2016 Jon moved into the position of Operations Manager.  He works with our vendors to ensure timely delivery and supply of inventory, provides customer service by keeping our customers informed of the schedule of work, and works closely with designers, managers, and team members to ensure that inventory and projects are streamlined and efficient.

Justin Hill
Office Manager

9452 Jax-EditJustin graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2007 with a degree in Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies.  He has been in the landscaping industry since 2007 and has experience in many areas, including production management,  snow management, and customer service. His adorable dog Jax keeps morale high at the office.
