Last fall, one of our designers met with homeowners who just closed on a house with a view of Lake Thoreau in Reston. The current landscape was very lacking and the existing decking was rotting and too small for entertaining.
Our designer came up with a plan to implement a dry stacked wall and new plantings along the right side of the property leading to the backyard paver patio with segmental retaining walls. The design also incorporated the use of large natural stone steppers as a walkway leading down to the lake dock in place of the existing timber steps.
Now these homeowners can enjoy their spacious new paver patio with supplemental segmental walls for seating. Also let’s not forget about the beautiful view of the lake!
